What to see a day in Stockholm?

Anyone got any suggestions? Like just a little suggestion would be helpful. We all know Gamla Stan is worth walking thru, but what else? Our Royal Palace too, but what else? No museums, no old boats & no amusement parks please. Anyone?

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

So I looked in my calender this morning & realized that it's the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

So I think we all should take a moment today to remember what we humans are capable of doing to each other if no one puts their foot down before it goes too far. To remember how many families was broken in half, how many daughters, sons, fathers, mothers, brothers & sisters who never got to see one another ever again. To make sure that our future sons & daughters knows the history of the Holocaust and for them to make sure it never happens again.

Back on track!

Day 5 (Saturday)
WE HAVE WATER AGAIN! PEPOLE - WE HAVE WATER! HALLELUJA! If the water goes off again. I'm MOVING. To the bathtub. Gonna start bying water for storage now in case it happens again.

15 January, 2010

Soo..

No water. NONE. ZERO. ZIP. Nothing. At all. Disaster. I'm giving you the daily update here.

Day 1 (Tuesday)
There's no water in the house. Why is it always like that when you want to shower? I can FEEL the dirt in my hair, I can hear the head lice coming with their U-haul trucks moving in, gettin comfy. And this is only the first day without any water. How will I ever survive?

Day 2 (Wednesday)
Second day without any water. I'm seriously considering going out naked with my showerkit (containing - one spunge, really nice smelling not tested on animals & very organic showergel, shampoo & conditioner) and just get it over with. Then I will forever be known as the naked Swedish chick by my neighbours & I will confirm the rumor about Swedes always walking around naked. Halleluja.

Day 3 (Thursday)
Third day without water, but believe it or not! - I'm getting a shower today. At a total strangers house. Not to worry, I know someone who knows this person, so it's safe. I'm packing my really very organic showergel & heading out. I'll come back looking like a new person. Seriously. Like a new person.

Day 4 (Friday)

Fourth day without water. I am like a new person after the shower last nite. Thank god for shampoo. I never thought I'd say this cause I live on the island where it always rains. But I am praying for water. PLEASE - WAAATEER!

Kian looking for his buddy

I love the little man. He's the funniest little kid & he's now getting to that age where he understands everything you say & you know when he's not listening he's only doing it to be a pain. He recognizes ppl a lot better now too, he knows who's who & he knows SO many words by now! My big & little man has become very good friends by now & whenever Sean comes around the little man is happy to jump over to his arms & totally ignores me, except for when he falls & starts crying. Then I'm the one who holds the power of kissing & blowing on the knee or elbow to make it all better again. Sean calls the little man buddy, and now since after Christmas the little man has started to say 'BUUUUDDYY' too. It's too cute & hilarious! I kept it going so now the little man thinks that Sean's name is buddy.

So usually how it goes in the mornings when Sean stays over is that the little man & I go upstairs and to wake him around 10, and the little man opens the door to my bedroom & runs into the dark to the bed to wake Sean up, jumping up & down half screamin, half laughin.
So this afternoon the little man & I go upstairs to get the cat Jerry (the little man goes 'mjau mjau' as soon as you say 'cat') that he LOVES to snuggle with. When we pass by my bedroom, the little man pushes the door open and looks into the dark room, points and asks me in a questioning tone 'Buddy?' I start to giggle a bit as the little man runs in going 'buddy? buddy?' I turn on the lights and tell him there's no one there. He gives me a confused look & goes up to the bed and pull the covers down, just to make sure his buddy isn't hiding under there. No one to be found. So the little man shrugs his shoulders, lifts up his hands and says 'All gone'.

I love my freckles

The weekend went by fast. Had to go by IKEA for the sale, so I dragged Sean with me & look what we found! Or what I found.. Sean was a little bit more unsure about it but I convinced him it was a brilliant idea. I changed my mind bout the brilliance when I realised how much work it was putting it together. So my poor man, my brilliant handyman got to help me out. I love it!

2009.. Was is really that good?

I moved from the States to Ireland, and I managed to visit Sweden, Mexico, England & Germany.
I got to meet my nephew Elis, 2 years, for the first time.
I decided to put whatever I want to study on bedrest for a while & take a moment to decide.
I realised even more how important family is after my Grandma past away & that I'm so lucky to have had a great childhood & loving parents.
I fell in love. With a guy I can see myself with for a very very long time.
I had a very hard time saying goodbye to my extended family in San Diego & Orlando,
but I also made new friends in Ireland.

If you can fall head over heels in love with a book, I did that too - Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Safón.
I'm very happy with what I've accomplished in my life so far.
